Leading Brand and Design Publication Selects Tactical Magic’s Work

Logo Created for Memphis Brands Selected Among Nation’s Best

Two award-winning logos created by Memphis branding company Tactical Magic for local organizations have been included in the 10th volume of LogoLounge, the nation’s leading publication of branding and identity design work.

The “Mojo of Midtown” logo, created for the Midtown Memphis Development Corporation (MMDC), features a gritty retro-funky style, in keeping with the district’s character. The PuppyUp monogram represents that organization’s positive and relentless dedication to canine cancer research. More than 37,000 logos were submitted for publication by the nation’s branding experts who published LogoLounge, but only 10 percent were selected to appear in the design book’s newest publication.

Trace Hallowell, Tactical Magic’s creative director, said his firm’s trademarks have appeared in LogoLounge more than 20 times since the firm was founded sixteen years ago. “We were honored and delighted to work with brands like MMDC and PuppyUp. I am proud to see not-for-profits get recognition, alongside our business clients.”

Andy Kitsinger, chairman of the MMDC, said, “Our Mojo of Midtown logo is a hit with our stakeholders and captures the vibe and originality of our brand.’’
