Tactical Magic Branding Featured in College Textbook
Examples of branding created for the Eyewear Gallery by Tactical Magic are included in the latest edition of the college textbook, Graphic Design Basics.
The Eyewear Gallery logo appears in chapter five (“Good Gestalt”), while store signage and a billboard appear in chapter ten (“What is Advertising Design?”) of the textbook.
Author Amy Arntson, Professor-Emerita, University of Wisconsin, states, “I appreciate Tactical Magic’s contribution to this textbook. The logo and its applications are bright, upbeat and very well designed. A fine combo and an excellent example for students.”
The branding for the Eyewear Gallery was created by art director Sloan Cooper and creative director Trace Hallowell of Tactical Magic. According to Hallowell, “The Eyewear Gallery is a very high quality, local small business. We are pleased that we were able to give them a trademark that lives up to their brand.” He adds, “It seems like it wasn’t all that long ago that we were in school ourselves, studying the work of influential designers. It is an amazing honor to have our own work sitting there on a page in a graphic design textbook, next to a logo designed by the great Herb Lubalin.”
This publication marks the third college textbook to include work from Tactical Magic. Previously, ``Design Evolution devoted an entire chapter to the firm’s unique “War Room” methodology and Contemporary Advertising 11 also selected work for inclusion.
The logo designed for the Eyewear Gallery has also been published in LogoLounge 3, a hardcover collection of the finest trademarks from around the world.
