For Fifth Straight Year, AAF Recognizes Tactical Magic for Logo Design

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Monday, March 1, 2010 – The Memphis chapter of the American Advertising Federation honored brand agency Tactical Magic with a silver ADDY award for logo design. This marks the fifth straight year that the firm has earned an ADDY in the highly competitive logo design category.

Tactical Magic also received a gold ADDY for a print ad created for Memphis Bioworks Foundation. According to Regina Whitley, Executive Director of Memphis Bioworks Business Association, “We love the way Tactical Magic used humor to make a serious point. The ad helps to position Memphis as a major center for orthopedic research and development to our core target audience.”

The winning logo was created for Powerlines Community Network, a collaborative alliance led by Agape. “We approached Tactical Magic hoping they could help us come up with a name for the initiative,” notes Agape Executive Director David Jordan. He adds, “What we ended up with was a brand strategy, a name, a mission statement, and a logo. These will play no small role as we unfold our plan to serve 25,000 children and families in 20 at-risk Memphis neighborhoods by 2015.”

"We're proud for our clients and their inspiring community work. And I’m proud for our staff and their consistently high level of creative work," says Tactical Magic managing partner Trace Hallowell.

Winning work from Memphis will be eligible to compete in the district ADDY awards competition later this spring.
